What is Wrong with this picture?

  well, to begin with the camera is a cheap consumer video camera with a low quality lense. the image sensor is tiny with low resolution and high color smear. this may be ok for home movies but certainly does not make for professional videos.

 The second problem is the video recorder. This is a consumer recorder that only records up to one hour in standard mode this makes the videographer have to change tapes too often and does not meet the federal 2 hour requirement.

 The third problem is the tripod and video head. Cheap consumer tripods with cheap low quality video heads create a video that looks jerky and very unprofessional.

 The fifth problem is the audio recorder used to make audio tapes for the court reporter. cheap consumer cassette recorders have cheap low quality recording mechanisms with a high failure rate and can jam easily. The quailty of the recordings with a low quality mixer makes for tapes that are difficult for the court reporter to hear.

Lastly and most importantly, there is no backup for the video. Low cost consumer recorders have a much higher failure rate than professional recorders. If your video recorder fails during a video and you have no back up , you are basically up a creek without a paddle.
